Hi, my name is Saylor Bell.
I’m 19 years old, born on September 12th in Sheridan, Wyoming, and I’ve lived in the same home my entire life. Growing up, I was raised on a small piece of land just outside of town, so I was never much of a “girly girl.” My dad had a deep love for motorcycles when he was younger and always wished at least one of his kids would share that passion. However, he didn’t have time to own a bike during those years because he was often out of town. That changed in 2018 when he got his first Road Glide.
With my dad back on a bike, my own passion for riding settled in as well. Not long after he got his motorcycle, I got my first bike, a Kawasaki Eliminator. I practiced endlessly to perfect my riding skills. At first, I wasn’t able to ride it in the rodeo because it wasn’t a Harley, but by 2020, I got my first-ever rodeo bike—a project I was incredibly proud of.
That same year, my dad rode in the rodeo for the first time, and I knew I wanted to join him the next year. Riding for the first time at the fairgrounds in Red Lodge, MT, was an unforgettable experience. Something in me clicked. I realized I wanted to be part of this gritty, spirited biker community. The way everyone came together to include us and make us feel like family completely won me over.
We attended the rodeo in 2019, and by 2020, my dad was back riding and paving the way. I’ll never forget how excited and nervous I was to finally ride with him in the following year’s rodeo. I’ll always be grateful to West Nelson for tossing me on his bike and teaching me everything I needed to know about rodeo riding.
Even though I had practiced with my dad for a while, riding in an arena was a whole different world. I would spend hours practicing next to the camper, honing my skills. Now, after years of hard work and countless victory checks, this will be my fifth time riding in a biker rodeo!
My dad is my biggest inspiration. Without him, I wouldn’t have discovered this kind of joy and passion. He’s been my rock through every high and low of rodeos and riding. He’s helped me get all of my bikes, including the best one yet, which I got in June 2022. He also enrolled me in classes that taught me valuable skills, always emphasizing the importance of putting effort into the things I love.
This association and these rodeos have brought me immense joy, and I hope they do the same for others. I’ve built the most amazing biker family through this experience, and I’ll never forget the people who have stood by my side—including Ben.
Ben has also played a significant role in my life. He’s always there to explain things I don’t understand, hold my hand high for the crowd to cheer, and calm my nerves when I’m out in the arena, even when the pressure is on him.
From my dad to the incredible people I’ve met, this community has taught me what it truly means to be a biker. I’ve learned how to lead and how to support others. I’m so excited about the future of this association, especially its potential to bring younger generations into our biker family and provide support for veterans.
I can’t wait to see the joy this community continues to create as it grows, fosters connections, and welcomes others into this remarkable world we’ve built. While I’m thrilled about what’s to come, I’ll always treasure the amazing memories and people who’ve made this experience unforgettable.
